Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC): undertakes all matters related to safety and security of carriage of cargoes. Cargoes that ships carry are primary resources like iron ore, timbers, petroleum, synthetic chemical products, food stuffs, everyday goods, medical and health products, etc. Such a variety of commodities cannot be controlled and regulated by one-size-fits all standards. The Sub-committee aims to provide appropriate safety regulations for all cargoes carried by shipping from packaging to unloading.
The ITF endeavours to ensure the crew on a ship with a certain type of cargo are fully aware of its attributes and protocols for handling under emergency. An additional profound principle is that operations are conducted by competent personnel as not to cause any potential danger for both personnel onboard and on shore nor pollution to marine environment.
