Violence Against Public Transport Workers: Trade Union Responses

Report Published

This report, produced for the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF), examines the rise of third-party violence against public transport workers and the union strategies developed to address it.

Drawing on interviews, surveys, case studies and workers’ testimonies from unions and public transport workers in different countries, the report shows that verbal abuse, physical assaults and gender-based harassment have become persistent risks, particularly in contexts of understaffing, poor services, lone working and inadequate infrastructure.
