International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) affiliated unions from Venezuela and Guyana that met in Rio de Janeiro to debate current border issues between both nations have signed a joint declaration to promote actions for a positive dialogue for the benefit of both nations.

ITF unions are on a mission. On 5 October they will take to the streets to talk with passengers about how using and investing in public transport can cut down emissions, create millions of jobs and improve everybody's way of life.

A report of a survey into women seafarers’ health revealed that joint pain and stress were the two biggest health challenges for women seafarers, over 40 representatives from maritime welfare and union organisations heard at a high-level briefing on 17 September.
