Governance

The International Transport Workers' Federation is governed by its constitution. The Constitution states that ITF is run by an elected executive board meeting twice a year.

The terms of the ITF Constitution are those approved by the 44th Congress of the ITF, 2018.

Congress

ITF holds a congress every five years in accordance with the ITF Constitution, Rule IV. At Congress ITF unions make important decisions that set the direction for the future of the global trade union movement for transport workers.

Congress elects the president of ITF, decides where the headquarters will be, and decides what the priorities will be for the years ahead.
