The Netherlands supreme court has broken a ruling by the court of appeal that had previously ruled that Dutch wages were not applicable to Hungarian truck drivers working in and from the Netherlands.
The Netherlands supreme court has overruled the court of appeals to decide that Dutch wage laws are applicable to Hungarian drivers working in the country.
The International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) is calling on the New Zealand bus company Go Bus to unconditionally end its lockout of bus drivers for exercising their right to take action to demand a living wage. The drivers had voted to stop taking fare money from passengers to show that they cannot continue to live on such low wages.

As employers cut costs to stay competitive, truck drivers work excessive hours to reach their destination on time. Bus deregulation has forced tighter schedules, with less time for rest breaks. Taxi deregulation has worsened taxi drivers’ employment conditions in many countries
