Stand with Lula

news Press Release

Lula surrendered himself to police on Saturday 7 April, even though the legal process has violated his rights to privacy, to a fair trial, freedom from arbitrary arrest, the right to freedom of movement and the fundamental right to be presumed innocent until found guilty.

International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) general secretary, Stephen Cotton, made a statement about this travesty of injustice: http://www.itfglobal.org/en/news-events/press-releases/2018/april/itf-statement-on-luis-in%C3%A1cio-lula-da-silva/.

As a global movement we stand shoulder to shoulder with Lula and the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).

The ITUC call for a global trade union action day on 23 April to #FreeLula by protesting in front of Brazilian embassies.

We stand together.
