Pathway to Congress (P2C) is designed to make sure all unions have the opportunity to feed into the highest decision making process at Congress in 2018 and that the priorities and approach of each part of the ITF fit in with the global strategy explained in the 4 levers.
ITF Arab World regional secretary Bilal Malkawi said: "This conference will take place in a very critical time where the region is under political and economic pressure, delegates from 12 Arab countries will meet in Tunis to draw future strategies to face the challenges that affect transport workers.
"The meeting in Tunis is a message to the world that Tunis is safe enough to host such a big event. Such a conference is an opportunity for open debates and to get prepared for the future."
The conference will bring together union representatives for four days of key debates, fact-finding, planning and electing the regional committees. It will address issues such as organising, strengthening youth and women workers and human and trade union rights in the region.
