ITF Thai affiliates came together for a climate change seminar in Bangkok last week. Between 20-22 August, 22 participants from eight transport unions looked at the impact and causes of climate change – and the role transport workers can play in the struggle for sustainable transport.

After almost a decade of struggle with employers RD Tuna, workers in Papua New Guinea last week finally won the right to form an independent union. RD Tuna, a Filipino company with operations based in Papua New Guinea, has a long history of anti-union behaviour. This has included establishing an
