The ITF’s HIV module for seafarers is to be extended to all the major maritime academies in the Philippines, following a successful pilot with the Maritime Academy of Asia Pacific (MAAP) in March.

Commenting on the election of Lim Ki-Tack as the next president of the IMO (International Maritime Organization), Paddy Crumlin, president of the ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation), said:

“We’re making progress on HIV but the knowledge and need for action doesn't stop.”
