Advance notice to press: Handing over of letter of protest in Châtel-St-Denis, Switzerland, September 26

news Press Release

Members of the press are invited to attend the public handing over of a letter of protest next Thursday 26 September at the headquarters of Swiss-based offshore pipeline installation and subsea construction company Allseas Group SA.

The event will feature a trade union delegation from several countries which is visiting Switzerland in order to press home demands that the company abides by its and Switzerland’s obligations under international conventions (including the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 of which the country is a signatory) and recognises the union rights of those working for it.

The delegates will gather at 10:30 at Châtel-St-Denis railway station before moving on to the company’s headquarters (Route de Pra de Plan 18, 1618 Châtel-Saint-Denis) at 11:00. At 11:30 they will deliver a letter of protest to the office.

On 25 September you will be sent a full press release giving all the details of the reasons for the delegation, a copy of the letter to be delivered, and an explanatory leaflet (available in English, French and German).
