The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has signed a memorandum with unions just days after the ITF urged president Kabila to facilitate negotiations with the unions over its plans to privatise the Société Commerciale des Transports et Ports (SCTP).

Global union bodies the ITUC (International Trade Union Confederation) and ITF (International Transport Workers) have swung into action to support a Korean trade union facing state victimisation.
