A 10 strong international trade union team will speak out tomorrow to explain the goals of their solidarity visit to South Korea.

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) has condemned the sentencing of British labour rights researcher Andy Hall to three years’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, by the Bangkok Criminal Court on 20 September.

“When I get home my mission is to get my comrades motivated and activated.”

Trade unionists from around the world explored a common ITF approach to tackling the Uber business model of “deregulation, destabilisation and disrespect for workers”, which is increasingly prevalent in the taxi and other transport sectors.

Officials from two global union federations and their affiliates on a solidarity mission to South Korea will explain their plans at a press conference next Tuesday 27 September at 13:00 at Seoul Station Plaza, Seoul Station, Seoul, where a major rally will then take place.
