ITF comment on Doha container death

Commenting on last week’s death of a driver crushed by a container reportedly falling from a lorry exiting Doha port, ITF president Paddy Crumlin said: “Injuries associated with containers are all too common. They can occur throughout the supply chain –on ships, in ports, on road and rail. There is a deep and constant need for oversight, care and regulation.”

Unions deliver worker’s message to Agility customer

ITF and Unite members delivered a personal message from Agility Kenya worker Ruth Matahi today direct to shareholders of one of the company’s major customers. They shared the message – an eyewitness account of the tactics being used by managers of the logistics multinational’s Kenyan branch – at the AGM of BAT (British American Tobacco) in London this morning.
