Where’s your pension money going? Workers’ capital explained

This week members of the global unions Committee on Workers’ Capital (CWC) met at the ITF in London. The committee is a joint initiative of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the Trade Union Advisory Committee of the OECD (TUAC) and the Global Union Federations (GUFs).

Panama protests demand respect at DHL

On Friday a demonstration led by the ITF-affiliated SIELAS union (Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria de la Aviación Civil y Similares) was held outside DHL’s offices in Panama City. The protestors, joined by an international ITF delegation of DHL union leaders, denounced the company’s anti-union actions, and called for respect for trade union rights and the lifting of a six-month suspension of negotiations on a collective agreement.

ITF backs UNI Amazon ‘shame day’

UNI global union used Amazon’s 20th birthday on 15 July to highlight the grim reality for the company’s workers behind the commercial success story, and, along with the ver.di union, urged customers and citizens to send birthday greetings to the global retailer protesting against poor working conditions.
