Phoenix bus strike ended by ATU and Transdev settlement

A week-long city bus strike in Phoenix, Arizona in the United States ended on 15 January when the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1433 approved a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with French multinational Transdev Services Inc.

Year's first East Asia action week begins Monday

ITF inspectors, along with dockers’ and seafarers’ union members, will check pay and working conditions on board vessels as part of the first East Asian maritime action week of 2016. The action week will be held from 25 to 29 January across ports in Japan, Korea, Russia and Taiwan.

ITF condemns Ouagadougou attacks and mourns union activist

The ITF has condemned the terrorist attacks in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on 15 January, in which an activist in its civil aviation affiliate union the FSTAB (Fédération des Syndicats des Travailleurs et Auxiliaires du Transport du Burkina) and 28 other people were killed.
