ITF warmly welcomes Ryder renewal at ILO

Noticias Nota de prensa

ITF president Paddy Crumlin stated: “Five years ago when Guy became the first ever ILO DG to have trade union experience we forecast great things for him. Those high hopes have been upheld. I believe that there is no one better qualified to lead the ILO through the next five years of championing what is good and confronting what is bad in employment in the evolving global economy. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that the ILO is needed now more than ever.”

ITF general secretary Steve Cotton commented: “For five years Guy has ably helmed this great international body, calling on its formidable experience and worldwide staff and resources. We and everyone concerned about employment are lucky to have someone of his calibre in place in this crucial post. The ILO’s increasing relevance is shown by its plans to celebrate its centenary through its Future of Work initiative, which addresses many of the biggest issues facing workers in the 21st century.”
