Dear Brothers and Sisters at the IAM,

Through the ITF Secretariat, we were informed about your Day of Action 2007.

Like you, we have witnessed worsening terms and conditions, increased work time, and overall job losses in our country and beyond. Trade unions were confronted with aviation entities being privatised, the industry being restructured, and low cost non union operators coming into the market. What used to be a valuable public service industry has fallen victim to global financial institutions, trying to pit workers against each other.

As a trade union affiliated to the ITF, we believe in workers and their trade unions standing united internationally against further degradation of our jobs and careers. Your Day of Action 2007 expresses that, and we are glad that - although we cannot attend your event personally - we get the opportunity to send you our warmest regards and support through this message system.
