Sihanoukville Centre Opens

The Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, which is the sole deep seaport of the Kingdom of Cambodia, is strategically located in Preah Sihanouk province southwest of the country and has roughly 850 to 950 vessels calling at the port every year.

This Seafarers’ Centre was mainly designed for welfare services of both local and international maritime workers in the port in collaboration with Sihanoukville Autonomous port, International Transport Workers’ Federation, ITF Seafarers’ Trust (ITF-ST), and the International Committee on Seafarers’ Welfare (ICSW).

The aim of the centre is to provide welfare services, including counseling and religious services, distribution of reading materials, places for relaxation and unwinding, reading section, internet access, international call, cable TV and video for entertainment, in-door games, transportation from vessels to the centre and other destinations around the city etc. to the seafarers and all trade union workers of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.

The PAS’s Trade Union would like to invite all ships’ crews and PAS’s workers and employees to our Seafarers’ Centre from today onwards.
