On 14-18 February 2011, the ITF is asking its road, rail, maritime and docker unions to organise activities focusing on workers, the general public and political decision-makers on a national basis to raise awareness of the problem of container safety.
This is the week prior to the ILO Global Dialogue Forum on Safety in the Supply Chain in relation to the Packing of Containers.
The ITF is encouraging its unions to take initiatives to lobby members of parliament, senior industry executives and other relevant stakeholders as well as activities to raise awareness of the issue amongst the general public.
