North Sea Helicopter Crash
02/04/09
The ITF wishes to extend its sympathy to all those affected by the tragic loss of life of the passengers and crew of the helicopter that downed in the North Sea yesterday.
ITF General Secretary David Cockroft said: "Our sympathy is with the families, friends and colleagues of these men, and with all those working offshore, for whom helicopter travel is a routine part of their often hard and dangerous work. We are glad to see that the service provider has grounded its fleet of Super Puma helicopters and trust that everything possible is and will be done to make offshore travel as safe as is humanly possible. In the meantime we join with everyone inside and outside the industry who has extended their support to those who have suffered and are suffering now."
