DHL Express workers in Belgium are to receive redundancy should they decide not to relocate to other cities following the closure of the company’s Diegem headquarters.

Unions representing DHL Express workers in Diegem have promised those with a Belgian contract a redundancy arrangement should they refuse to move to Germany, Czech Repulic, Malaysia and Costa Rica; a number of positions will be relocated to cities in those countries. Plans to move DHL Express's headquarters, which will take place over the next two years, were announced at the end of last year; unions have said some 900 jobs are set to be affected.

Further consultation with managers is due to take place on 26 January.
