ITF Africa
ITF translations available: English, Français
The ITF’s African membership now embraces all the regions of the continent with all the main language groups, i.e. English, French, Arabic and Portuguese speaking. Priority has been given within the region to organise the unorganised, to confront the AIDS/HIV threat and to promoting women’s trade union participation. Impressive progress has been made in establishing co-ordinating committees in almost all countries with more than two affiliates. Sub-regional committees have also been established to strengthen communication between countries. The ITF African Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya co-ordinates the ITF’s activities in Africa. A co-ordinator for West Africa is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
