Teamsters celebra el voto favorable al nuevo proyecto de ley

El sindicato de conductores de Estados Unidos Teamsters recibió con agrado la noticia de que la Cámara de Representantes de ese país votó a favor del proyecto de ley sobre la Reautorización de la Administración Federal de Aviación. El proyecto facilitará la organización de los trabajadores y las trabajadoras de las operaciones terrestres de FedEx.
“La Cámara Baja ha hecho lo correcto al llenar este vacío legal injusto”, comentó el presidente del sindicato Jim Hoffa. “Los trabajadores y las trabajadoras de FedEx Express se han visto privados de ejercer su derecho a constituir sindicatos como lo hacen los trabajadores y las trabajadoras de otras empresas de distribución de paquetes”.
Todos excepto cuatro de los 244 diputados demócratas apoyaron el proyecto de ley con su voto, mientras que 132 de 169 republicanos se opusieron a él. Ahora, el proyecto deberá ser tratado en el Senado.
