The ETF launched a one-year EU-funded project in 2007 aimed to improve capacity of both trade unions and EWC delegates to better participate in transnational information and consultation processes, in the transport industry.

This was done by:

creating and providing tools for negotiation and / or re-negotiation of EWC agreements (also covering cases of mergers, take-overs, acquisitions) and for coordinated action in case of corporate restructuring, namely outsourcing;
improving interaction between trade unions and EWC delegates to boost workers’ transnational participation, information and consultation.
