Participation
In January 2002 the ITF / ETF affiliates from Central and Eastern Europe nominated the members who were to participate in the Corridor Project opening event. These members will therefore be invited to join all relevant future project activities.
Women
The ITF and ETF strongly promote participation of women in the project activities. The members of the ETF European women's network from those countries in which events are being held will automatically be invited to take part in the activities. We urge all trade unions represented in the activities to make sure that women are included in the trade union delegations.
ITF / ETF affiliates from EU Member States
Although the project does not cover any participation costs for the colleagues from EU Member States (Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy, Greece), they are invited to join any of the events mentioned above.

ETF CORRIDOR RELATED ACTIVITIES 2000 - 2002
The following activities have been organised so far by the ETF in relation to the pan-European Transport Corridors:
-
October 2000 - The ECOSOC hearing on the Structured Social Dialogue within the pan-European Transport Corridors: the ETF led a trade union delegation made of six members. On that occasion, the ETF expressed its commitment to take an active role in the political cooperation along the Transport Corridors. In addition, the trade union representatives expressed their national / regional concerns related to the Corridor policy.
-
November 2000 - The ETF appointed its first Corridor coordinator, for Corridor IV. By the end of September 2002 six corridor meetings had been held. The ITF and ETF intend to replicate the experience of Corridor IV cooperation within the Corridor Project. The Corridor Coordinator made a presentation on Corridor IV* cooperation in the plenary session of the opening seminar.
-
2000 / 2002 - The ETF developed new contacts with rail and road unions from countries which play a key role in the Corridor cooperation (Slovak Republic; Yugoslavia);
-
June 2001 - The ETF Inland Navigation section started an intense lobby for the opening of the transport flow on Danube. The four meetings organised so far created the premises for a good trade union cooperation along Corridor VII. Therefore, the Corridor VII cooperation is expected to set a good example of linking the Corridor Project activities to the ETF section work.
*A well-organised union representatives' network is operating along this corridor. The meetings take place, in turn, in one of the countries along the corridor. External contributors take part in the debates: ECOSOC, employers' organisations, intergovernmental bodies specialised in Corridor work.
