On November 2nd, members of ITF Spanish affiliate CC.OO. demonstrated outside a press conference called by Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary to announce the start of Madrid operations by the anti-union, low cost airline.

Union representatives carried banners that read "RYANAIR, AVIATION PIRATES", and "O'LEARY = LIAR", in protest against O'Leary's failure to address concerns raised by workers about company policies and practices.
