Ukraine
The Trade Union Council of Railway Workers and Transport Constructors of Ukraine organised information meetings with activists and workers about the Action Day Campaign. A meeting was also held with the administrative representative in charge of safety. Leaflets were distributed to workers and passengers by all six regions of the union with some regions developing their own leaflets to reflect their local needs and demands. Workers wore jackets showing the ITF and union logos and special announcements were made by loud speakers at railway stations. A safety month was organised in the Donesk region - activities included inspections and a special competition to check workers' knowledge on safety. (Phone report by Oleh Ruban)

Croatia
The Railroad Engineer Trade Union of Croatia organised a press conference on 27 March on railway issues and problems experienced in Croatia. The press conference which also discussed the International Railway Workers' Action Day Campaign, was attended by representatives from national television and newspapers. The union also distributed more than 1,000 information leaflets and posters in Croatian on every train in the country. (Phone report by Dalibor Petrovic)
Zambia
The Railway Workers' Union of Zambia held talks with the workers' to raise health and safety awareness. A march was held through the town of Kabwe, which was followed by a rally at which the Minister for Transport gave an address. (Phone report by Benson L Ngula)
