The 7th ITF Railway Workers' International Action Day will be held on Monday 27 March 2006.

Railway Workers' Action Day 2006*
Campaign poster*

Railway workers' unions all over the world will take a variety of actions to appeal for the importance of railway safety under the slogan:

"Safety First! Unions campaigning for the global future of rail".

For further details, please email Mac Urata, Section Secretary, ITF Inland Transport Sections.

More information on the Action Day Campaign in 2005 can be found here >>

As you may know, the unification of the international trade union movement will culminate this autumn with the creation of a single global trade union organisation in succession to the ICFTU and WCL.  THe ITF, along with other Global Union Federations, is meeting with the WCL's industrial organisations (in our case, FIOST) to further this objective.  In our discussions with FIOST, we have agreed that the two organisations will collaborate practically in this year's action day campaign.  We are, therefore, inviting FIOST rail unions to our Action Day officially and have included their logo on the poster for the 2006 Campaign.
