Air Berlin - wage increase for cabin crews above inflation

The newly recognized union for the cabin crews in Air Berlin has now achieved a first wage increase for all crew members. The 1,500 crew will receive a 3.0 % increase in January 2008, and an additional 2.8 % in 2009. This is way above the inflation for Germany! In addition to that, the whole area of union influence within the system of co-determination will also be layed down in a collective agreement. Considering the non-union status of this European low cost carrier until very recently, this is a huge break through for employees in this airline. Air Berlin has recently taken over several smaller airlines in Germany, the short-haul carrier "DBA", the long-haul charter carrier "LTU" and the former Lufthansa subsidiary "Condor", all of which were unionised before.

The union representing cabin crew in Air Berlin is also the union in Germany which gladly welcomes Ryanair cabin crew members based in Germany! Please contact us through the website www.ryan-be-fair.org
