He is a member of the AIEG (Aviation Industry Employees Guild) and the ITF, through the AIEG.

During this tenure he, along with his committee, managed to Unionise a lot of sections of his Airline and also successfully reached out to others in the Private Airlines, where unionism is considered to be a taboo.  One of his greatest recent achievements was to organise and unionise "Air India Express", a wholly-owned subsidiary of "Air India".

He is very active in Young Workers at National and International levels and believes strongly in youth involvement at all stages of the decision-making process..

Jay lists a variety of hobbies including boxing, power biking, paragliding and debating.
