A major conference of women from the ITF's member unions took place in London on 22 - 23 September 2005.

Women workers and their representatives from airlines, road transport, railways, the ports sector, seafaring and other transport sectors drew up strategies in preparation for the ITF's regional meetings this year and Congress next year.

Women discussed the gender effects of globalisation, organising from a gender perspective and contributed to debates including combating sexism in airlines and mapping gender in the logistics industry. The ITF's own policies and activities were also up for review and debate.
