The ITF is supporting campaigning on June 1st by Hong Kong trade unions for fair retirement policies.
On June first, airlines unions will organise a rally at the airport. Passengers will also be encouraged to sign a petition against the practice.
Airlines based in Hong Kong are applying a rule under which some cabin crew are allowed to retire at an age of their choice up to 55 - but others are forced to retire at 45.
This violates fundamental rights of workers and excludes cabin crew from equal opportunities, decent working conditions and benefits and the right to retire with dignity.
To join the ITF in protesting against this abuse, please send letters of solidarity to the union, and letters of protest to the employer and government.
