Ref: Protest Letter - Protest against FirstGroup's vicitimisation of school bus driver

Dear Mr. Lockhead

I am writing to you in response to the news that following a visit by two First Student drivers to the UK by invitation of the UK unions, one driver, Sherri Henry, has been subject to direct reprisals by her management.

Sherri Henry and Jean Barker, both of Wilson County Tenessee, visited the ITF on 1 December, attending a Gender Workshop organised for women transport workers. At the time, they had been threatened with sanctions should they use their unpaid leave to attend union conferences in the UK. I am therefore shocked to learn that since she returned, Sherri Henry has been demoted from her regular bus route.

Mr. Lockhead, as the Chief Exective of FirstGroup, I would strongly urge you to ensure that First Student lifts these sanctions immediately, and that Sherri Henry be allowed to return to her school bus route without further harassment.

I would be grateful to hear your opinions on this matter,
