Ref: Solidarity Letter - Support BA cabin crew
Dear Brendan Gold and Cabin Crew at British Airways,
We are a trade union affiliated to the International Transport Workers Federation, ITF. We were informed about the situation you are in, fighting back management's attempts for harsher absentee-control and to improve the pay rates for new recruits into BA Cabin Crew. It is important that Unions stand firm against further erosion in their terms and conditions. Companies such as BA have benefited substantially from concessions made by their workforce in recent years but enough is enough.
We were alerted about your union's call for industrial action on Tuesday and Wednesday, 30/31 January 2007 and send you our warmest regards and all our solidarity in your dispute. Please rest assured that our organisation is standing side by side with you. Do not hesitate to call on us if you think we can be of help. Through the ITF, we will ensure that as much practical solidarity support as is possible is provided.
Yours in solidarity
