Women Seafarers' Resources

On this part of this website we have collected resources and information that may be of use to women working at sea.

Women working at sea, who need assistance or simply want to know more about labour issues are also advised to contact their seafarers' union. A list of ITF affiliated unions is featured below. If you are not already a union member, joining an ITF-affiliated union will offer you benefits and protection.

The ITF's network of over 140 Inspectors based in ports worldwide, is available to all seafarers who need help. These Inspectors deal with many concerns including working conditions, salaries and ship health and safety. ITF Inspectors are trained to be sensitive to gender issues. You can search for, and contact an ITF Inspector via our site.
