The ITF Seafarers Trust provides grants for the benefit of seafarers, and the case studies provide examples of the way in which seafarers have benefitted from the funding of the Trust.

In 2010, our major areas of expenditure for seafarers were for vehicles, buildings, communication facilities and support for the organisations who do the face to face work of welfare for seafarers. The Trust aims not only to provide hardware which will be used by seafarers, but also to increase the capacity of the non-profit organisations which work with seafarers.  The Trust works with established welfare organisations to maintain existing services, and also is involved in the setting up of new services in ports which do not have any welfare facilities for visiting seafarers.  We hope that these examples will inspire you to get involved, and welcome any comments or questions you may have by email on trust@itf.org.uk.
