LAN Airlines unions meet to strengthen cross border links
19 June 2008
Trade unionists from across Latin America working for the LAN Airlines Holding group (formerly LAN Chile) met for three days in Santiago, Chile, last week in the first step of a programme to forge and strengthen links between their unions.
Gabriel Mocho, Regional Education Coordinator of the ITF Americas office, reported: “This was a well attended, significant event, which saw a valuable interchange of information among workers at the airline on their experiences, work conditions and concerns.”
Ricardo Frecia, President of the Civil Aviation Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean, added: “This is the beginning of a common programme of events that are being supported by the ITF and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation.”
