Trade Union and Government united against AIDS in Guyana

The Guyana Clerical and Commercial Workers’ Union (CCWU), Guyana government and the World Bank launched a project to prevent and combat AIDS.
The project consists of promoting education in the workplace where the union has members, against discrimination and prejudice against HIV carriers. For 18 months union members will receive training about safe sex and other topics relating to the disease. The slogan adopted is “diminish the impact of AIDS on the workforce”.
