ETF completes the gender equality SECTION TOUR
In November 2005 the ETF Women’s Committee proposed and the ETF Executive Committee agreed for all ETF sections to include a gender debate on the agenda of one of their bi-annual meetings.
The ETF contribution in the European gender equality action is TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION OF WOMEN WORKING IN THE TRANSPORT INDUSTRY. Including the gender dimension at the ETF section level is therefore imperative. It is at this level that concrete challenges can be identified and effectively addressed.
A greater complementarity between the ETF gender and section policies is part of the ETF Gender Equality Action Plan 2005 – 2009. In November 2005 the ETF Women’s Committee proposed and the ETF Executive Committee agreed for all ETF sections to include a gender debate on the agenda of one of their bi-annual meetings. The ‘section tour’ was completed by September 2006, and the outcome was presented before the ETF Executive Committee at the beginning of October 2006.
The ETF Women’s Committee further analysed the outcome of the section tour and, together with the Executive Committee, agreed on follow-up action:
