Civil aviation

The ETF Civil Aviation Section's activities focus on ensuring an inclusive and socially oriented approach to European legislation with the aim of avoiding a downward spiral in employment, job security, safety, social welfare and salary cuts in the aviation industry. Recently the Section has focused on dealing with some specific strategic issues, as well as with its routine work of representing workers in the different aviation professions. These have included the Open Aviation Area (US/EU Aviation negotiations), and the "Third Package" of liberalisation, launched by the European Commission in 2003.
