The ITF currently has five vacancies. 

Global Administrator (D3) Global Administration Team- Level 1 ( x 2)

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), a Global Union Federation of around 700 transport trade unions in 150 countries representing over 4.5 million workers, is looking for two Global Administrators (D3) to join the Global Administration Team (GAT) to be based in London and to start as soon as possible.

This is a challenging and interesting opportunity for the successful candidate within the GAT and one that will need high quality administrative skills as well as strong organisational skills, effective drafting and proof-reading skills, experience of booking travel related services, organising complex meetings, and flexibility in working as part of a wider team.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required, with proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders. Due to the international aspects of the organisation’s work, a good working knowledge of another language would be an advantage.

Experience in working with databases and CRM systems and the ability to analyse data is essential.

This is a level 1 role within the GAT, and the job description for the Global Administrator can be found on pages 12 and 13 of the Global Competency Framework. This framework outlines the global administrative competencies and the level at which the Administrator Level 1 role functions within the wider team. Candidates are advised to review the Global Competency Framework to fully understand the role and what it entails.

Excellent conditions accompany a starting salary of £33,250.00 plus an annual bonus of £2,770.83, rising to £40,775.00 plus an annual bonus of £3,397.92. Annual leave will start at 22 days per annum pro-rata in the year of joining.

Trust Office Administrator (D3)

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), a London-based international federation of around 700 transport trade unions in 150 countries representing over 4.5 million workers, is looking for a Trust Office Administrator (D3) in the ITF Seafarers’ Trust to be based in London and to start as soon as possible.

This is a challenging and interesting opportunity for the successful candidate within the ITF Seafarers’ Trust and one that will ideally include experience in seafarers’ work either in an international organisation or a charity and / or experience in a grant making role. Fluent written and spoken English is essential and a good working knowledge of one or more additional languages will be valuable.

Excellent conditions accompany a starting salary of £33,250.00 plus an annual bonus of £2,770.83, rising to £40,775.00 plus an annual bonus of £3,397.92. Annual leave will start at 22 days per annum pro-rata in the year of joining.

Senior Section Assistant (C3) Inland Transport Sections

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) is a London-based international federation of around 700 transport trade unions in 150 countries representing over 4.5 million transport workers is looking for a Senior Section Assistant  to be based in London and to start as soon as possible. 

Duties and responsibilities

Candidates should bear in mind that this is a senior position which under the direction of the Head of Inland Transport will be involved in implementing and monitoring programmes of work in order to support Section goals and targets and ensure that the Sections achieve set objectives.

The successful candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve project-related issues; secure the active interests of ITF’s aims and objectives and provide Narrative and financial reports for relevant decision-making bodies including constitutional and non-constitutional entities within ITF structures. 

Experience required

Proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic organising programmes as well as knowledge of the transport industry is essential. High level communication skills, both verbally and in writing are essential plus a proven ability in developing positive relationships with organisations and individuals across diverse cultures. Due to the nature of the organisation and the role, knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

Conditions

The post is graded C3 which covers steps 18 to 23 on the ITF salary scale, with a salary range of £42,392.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of £3,532.67,rising to £50,777.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of £4,231.42. Other benefits and allowances may be payable depending on circumstances and experience.

It is anticipated that interviews for this position will take place in London in July 2017.

Agreements Unit Section Assistant (C1) Maritime Operations

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) is a London-based international federation of around 700 transport trade unions in 150 countries representing over 4.5 million transport workers is looking for an Agreements Unit Section Assistant to be based in London and to start as soon as possible.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for processing Agreement applications in a timely manner, monitors consultations, assembles and verifies evidence in support of beneficial ownership; represents the ITF to ship-owners, affiliates and inspectors in connection with agreement processes and related matters; responsible for identifying source of unallocated cash receipts relating to Welfare Fund and membership fees and prepares special agreements and related documentation.

The successful candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues; secure the active interests of ITF’s aims and objectives and provide narrative reports for relevant decision-making bodies including constitutional and non-constitutional entities within ITF structures.

Experience required

Competent in Microsoft Word at basic level and Excel at intermediate level ; broad experience in general administration and data inputting as well as knowledge of the transport industry is essential. High level communication skills, both verbally and in writing are essential plus a proven ability in developing positive relationships with organisations and individuals across diverse cultures. Due to the nature of the organisation and the role, knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

Conditions

The post is graded C1 which covers steps 14 to 19 on the ITF salary scale, with a salary range of £36,282.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of £3,023.50, rising to £44,075.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of £3,672.92. Annual leave will start at 22 days per annum and this will be pro-rata in the year of joining. It is anticipated that interviews for this position will take place in London in July 2017.
