The aim of the profiles is to enable all educators on the network to familiarise themselves with each other's interests, activities and developments taking place in unions throughout the ITF family.

History: I have been working in the Union since 1989 in various post. Now I am General Secretary as well as Chief of the Education department of ITWAN and Executive committee secretary of our National Centre the General Federation of Nepalese Trade unions an umbrella organisation of 24 affiliates (GEFONT). My major responsibility at (GEFONT) is handling Education department. I have been an educator since 1990.
Unions’ education activities: We have two types of activities one relating to process and another to content. The processes through which the trainer is trained and the other is the actual content. We use the Training of Trainers, Study Circle methods to impart training on this process. The second part of the contents is knowledge and rights based. Furthermore, we have developed a curriculum for National centre level and affiliates levels including sectoral basis.
Areas of interest: I do not have a specific area of education work that I specialise in. I make plans as per requirement of the trainees. But I am interested in teaching topics such as Globalisation & transport Workers & laws & rules, OSH, Transport policies etc.
Problems Faced: I face various problems related to education work for transport workers. Specially the following major problems:
1. Different levels of participants.
2. Lack of available time for education- after work
3. Less concentration of Participants.
4. Mobile jobs of transport workers
5. Fatigue of the participants due to difficult work schedule
6. Illiteracy
Strengthening links: Through the sharing of views and knowledge as well as learning from others in the network.
