Strike by Indian seafarers
8 August 2006
The ITF is backing a call for joint strike action by two Indian seafarers’ affiliates, NUSI and FSUI, following the refusal of shipowners to enter into a collective bargaining agreement covering more than 50,000 Indian ratings and petty officers.
The one-day strike on Indian-flagged vessels is scheduled for 29 August.Back to current news online stories
