Transport workers need secure and safe workplaces but security must not be used to undermine workers’ rights. Stable employment and a properly trained workforce are key to protecting transport security.

This is a different kind of ITF campaign because activities will not focus on a special action day. Unions will be invited to use the ITF’s existing regular campaigns to highlight safety and security. Information and campaigning materials are being produced, and a campaign website will offer updates on activities by ITF and its affiliated unions over the course of the year. Each affiliate can choose the most appropriate activities based on their local conditions.
