In Spain, there is a signed Agreement with the Spanish Union CC.OO. (Comisiones Obreras) which includes and covers ground handling workers with Ryanair. Union members are claiming that Ryanair has consistently ignored that Agreement and they are now taking strike action at every Ryanair ground handling base in Spain to get the company to stick to the agreed terms and conditions, which includes working hours, overtime, rest periods, shift assignments and pay, and others. What's more, it’s claimed that the company has been flouting even legal requirements such as occupational health and safety training for the workforce and respect for the rights of workers to join trade unions. The industrial action is planned to take place at all airports where Ryanair provides ground handling services. The range of action begins on October 16th and culminates on October 23 with a full 24 hour strike. Watch the website for further updates.
