[ITF Press Release, 7 October 2005]

The ITF International Road Transport Action Week will be held on 10-16 October 2005

The highly successful annual ITF Road Transport Action Day Campaign, which has been organised since 1997 under the slogan "Fatigue Kills!" will be expanded into an Action Week for the first time in 2005.

The Annual Meeting of the ITF Road Transport Workers' Section held on 6-8 June 2005 in London resolved to organise an Action Week in October this year in order to allow many unions to organise a wider range of activities, both nationally and regionally.

The Action Week will be closely tied to affiliates' efforts to organise the unorganised.  Whilst we are retaining our popular slogan "Fatigue Kills!" as our permanent logo, the following slogan will be used on our campaign materials:

"Organising Globally - Building Union Power"

As you may know, it is linked to the key theme of the forthcoming ITF 41st Congress: "Organising Globally - Fighting for our Rights", which the ITF Executive Board adopted in April 2005.

For further details on the campaign, please email Mac Urata, Section Secretary, ITF Inland Transport Sections.
