Rome, 28 November 2007: According to the Labour Court of Velletri, which is the responsible court for the Ciampino airport, Ryanair must recognize the Italian Trade Union Organisation "FIT CISL Comparto Volo" in order to bargain the terms and conditions of important legal aspects concerning the Ryanair employees. This is a fantastic achievement for all the European Ryanair workers where a few Ryanair employees in Rome have lost their job while struggling for their rights.

As the union tells us, the judge has furthermore decreed that Ryanair behaviour has been offensive, towards the Union. This decree must be immediately implemented, according to the Italian Law. This means that Ryanair must now also:

Stefano Pietrini (+39 392 53 31 833 email: stefano.pietrini@cisl.it) who represents the "FIT CISL Comparto Volo" has commented: "We are the first Italian and European Union Organisation who has been formally recognized from a national Labour Court to bargain the principal terms and conditions of the Ryanair workers in Italy concerning also the strike action Law and what services have to be guaranteed in case of industrial action. But more important we can now talk about the aspects regarding the temporary contracts (contractors) such as the quality, quantity, type etc. This is a fantastic achievement for all the European Ryanair workers where few Ryanair employees in Rome have lost their job while struggling for their rights.”

Now, all the Ryanair employees can look forward for a better professional future and join the Union without hesitation.
