Page context: International Women's Day 2006

The ITF is once again encouraging ITF affiliated unions worldwide to participate for the 6th year running in the ‘Women Transporting the World’ campaign by organising activities on 8th March 2006.

In 2006 we are asking all ITF affiliates to mark the day under the slogan ‘Strong Unions need Women’ and campaign once again to assist in organising and recruiting young women transport workers and to increase ITF affiliate activities designed to fight for women transport workers’ basic rights.

In order to help us publicise your activities on this site, please tell us what you are doing by completing the form below. Forms and other materials are also available on this site.

This International Women's Day, road transport unions are asked to cooperate in an ITF health and safety survey of women in their industry.
