Italy
Italian rail union, FIT CISL organised a demonstration of over 600 workers at the central station in Bologna. The union and workers were protesting at the government and rail managers over rail safety following a fatal train crash in January 2005 in which 6 workers and 11 passengers lost their lives.
Spain
Representatives from the Spanish unions UGT and CC.OO, together with their French colleagues, organised a demonstration at the Cerbere-Port Bou border station. Speeches on safety in its different aspects were made at the demonstration. Media coverage was good.

Great Britain
UK rail unions ASLEF and TSSA organised a collection of public signatures for a 'Rail Safety Charter' at Euston Station in London in the afternoon of 7 March. ITF General Secretary, David Cockroft took part in the event.
