In South Australia, the RTBU held a multi-union rally at Parliament to deliver an 8,000 signature petition demanding the Government release the details and findings of an inquiry into a highrail vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a RTBU member. The rally was addressed by the son of the deceased member who thanked the union for its efforts to get the Inquiry Report released. In Melbourne, signal workers displayed a union campaign banner requesting investment in safety at the V/line Spencer Street signal box. The banner caught the attention of inbound country train services during the early morning peak period.
